James Murray pitched the same version of Impractical Jokers, the show that is now one of the most popular unscripted shows on cable today, three times since 1999.
Various pilots and agreements never went, but James continued to press on with his three friends from high school. Impractical Jokers is now in it’s fourth season, and James candidly describes how he manuevered through an often impenetrable world of television development, how he licenses Jokers in foriegn territories around the world, what it was like head writing for Jake on Jake’s first ABC show, what he likes best about touring the country with the guys and how the success of Jokers has led to other development deals.
This episode is an extraordinary inside look at why James and the guys had to keep true to their vision for almost 13 years before it got picked up on television.
Perfect for any entrepreneur, entertainer, artist or comedian plotting next moves.
