Prosper Ishimwe, 28, A Rwandan Genocide Survivor, Tells His Whole Story For The Very First Time

AudioComments (0)

Prosper Ishimwe, 28, is a Rwandan genocide survivor. He’s currently seeking asylum in the United States. He tells his story, the whole story, for the very first time to Jake.

The inciting incident, the propaganda and politics, fleeing from his home during a night time raid, seeing his mother for the last time, running from gun fire, scaling dead bodies, crossing rivers at night and the execution of his grandfather and cousin point blank in front of him. All before his 9th birthday.

And: the love, humanity and healing that comes when one has the opportunity to share their story. For the very first time.
