This Privacy Policy explains how Jake Sasseville Books and Maybe Media 2 LLC and Jake Sasseville (“we,” “us,” or “our”) collect, use, share, and protect personal information when you visit jakesasseville.com (the “Site”), purchase our programs, or otherwise interact with us (collectively, the “Services”). By using the Site, you agree to the practices described in this Policy.
The short version. We collect the information you give us (like your name and email) and some data collected automatically (like cookies and analytics) so we can deliver our programs, process payments, communicate with you, and improve the Site. We do not sell your personal information for money. You have rights over your data — see §9.
The Site and Services are operated by Jake Sasseville Books and Maybe Media 2 LLC (the “Company”). For the purposes of applicable data-protection law, the Company is the “controller” of the personal information described in this Policy. If you have any questions, you can reach us using the details in §16.
Information you provide to us
When you fill out a form, register for a program or webinar, make a purchase, or contact us, we may collect: your name, email address, phone number, billing details, company or business information, the contents of messages and survey responses you submit, and any other information you choose to provide.
Information collected automatically
When you use the Site, we and our providers automatically collect certain technical information, including your IP address, device and browser type, operating system, referring/exit pages, the pages you view, links you click, and the dates and times of your visits. This information is collected using cookies and similar technologies (see §4).
Payment information
Payments are processed by our third-party payment processor, Stripe. Your full card details are provided directly to Stripe and are handled under Stripe’s privacy and security practices; we do not store your full payment card number. We may receive limited transaction information such as the last four digits of your card, card type, and billing ZIP/postal code.
We use personal information to:
provide, operate, and deliver the Services, including programs, recordings, webinars, and support;
process payments, send receipts, and manage payment plans and accounts;
communicate with you — respond to inquiries, send service and transactional messages, and (where permitted) send marketing emails you can opt out of at any time;
personalize your experience and improve the Site and our offers;
measure and analyze traffic, engagement, and advertising performance;
protect the security and integrity of the Site, prevent fraud, and enforce our terms; and
comply with legal obligations and exercise or defend legal claims.
We use cookies, pixels, and similar technologies to run the Site, remember your preferences, understand how the Site is used, and measure and deliver advertising. These include:
You can control cookies through your browser settings and, where offered, through a cookie banner or the providers’ own opt-out tools. Blocking some cookies may affect how the Site works. We honor recognized opt-out preference signals where required by law (see §11).
We do not sell your personal information for money. We share personal information only as described below:
Service providers who process data on our behalf, including HighLevel (forms, CRM, landing pages, and checkout hosting), Stripe (payment processing), Google (analytics), Meta (advertising), and Zoom (hosting live sessions and webinars). Each processes data under its own privacy terms.
Legal and safety — when we believe disclosure is necessary to comply with law, respond to lawful requests, enforce our agreements, or protect the rights, safety, and property of the Company, our users, or others.
Business transfers — in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, subject to this Policy.
With your consent — when you direct us to share your information.
Note: sharing identifiers with advertising partners such as Meta may be considered a “sale” or “sharing” under certain U.S. state privacy laws. See §11 for how to opt out.
We keep personal information for as long as needed to provide the Services, maintain your account and records, comply with our legal and tax obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements — generally no longer than 7 years for financial records unless a longer period is required by law. When information is no longer needed, we delete or de-identify it.
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect personal information against unauthorized access, loss, or misuse. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
We are based in the United States, and our providers may process information in the United States and other countries. If you access the Services from outside the U.S., you understand your information may be transferred to and processed in the U.S., where data-protection laws may differ from those in your country. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards (such as Standard Contractual Clauses) for such transfers.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights over your personal information, including the right to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your data, and to opt out of marketing. To exercise any right, contact us at [email protected]. We will respond as required by applicable law and may need to verify your identity first. You may also opt out of marketing emails at any time using the unsubscribe link in any message.
If you are located in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, or object to the processing of your personal data, the right to data portability, and the right to withdraw consent at any time (without affecting prior processing). You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.
We process your personal data under one or more of the following legal bases: performance of a contract (to deliver the Services you purchase), your consent (for marketing and certain cookies), our legitimate interests (to operate, secure, and improve the Site), and compliance with legal obligations. To exercise your rights, contact us at [email protected].
If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information we collect and how we use and disclose it; to request access to and deletion of your personal information; to correct inaccurate information; and to opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information (which, under California law, can include the use of advertising cookies/pixels such as the Meta Pixel). We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.
We do not sell personal information for monetary value. To opt out of cross-context behavioral advertising, you can adjust cookie settings, use the providers’ opt-out tools, or enable a recognized opt-out preference signal (such as Global Privacy Control) in your browser. To make a request, contact us at [email protected]. You may use an authorized agent, and we will verify requests as permitted by law.
The Services are intended for adults and are not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
With your permission or as otherwise permitted by law, we may send you marketing emails about our programs and offers. You can opt out at any time by clicking “unsubscribe” in any marketing email or by contacting us. We will still send you non-marketing messages related to your purchases and account.
We may update this Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Effective date” above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice. Your continued use of the Services after an update means you accept the revised Policy.
This Policy and any dispute relating to it are governed by the laws of the State of Hawaii, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules, except where a mandatory data-protection law of your jurisdiction applies.
